The flagship hospital, Shree Giriraj Hospital, was established in 2008 at a prime location in Rajkot, and it has since become one of the finest hospitals in the region. Chairman's Message

Chairman's Introduction

Shri Ramesh Chandra Keshavji Thakkar was born on June 1, 1949 in Vadtal. His father’s name was Keshavjibhai and his mother’s name was Menaben. He got married to a business-minded woman named Renukaben Thakker in 1974. He had two sons named Mayank and Gaurang, born in 1975 and 1977 respectively. Shri Ramesh Chandra Keshavji Thakkar completed his education up to SSC level. His parents made efforts to educate both of their sons. Mayank became a Doctor (MD – Internal Medicine) and Gaurang became a Mechanical Engineer.

Rameshbhai had a strong spiritual approach since his infancy and believed in serving humanity as service to God. He had deep faith in Lord Jalaram and dedicated himself to various selfless services such as running Shriji Gaushala, Karuna Foundation, Gaushala Vegetarian Society, Jivdaya Abhiyan, and Vivek and Youth Club for the betterment of 82 schools. His dedication to service proved to be a blessing for his family. The Youth Club also distributes blankets and slippers to the homeless during winter and summer respectively.

Rameshbai is a follower of Vipashyana and has always been dedicated to serving society, especially during times of calamity such as famine or drought in Rajkot. He has also dedicated his life to caring for animals, including cows, bullocks, birds, and fish. In 2013, he saved 600 cows and bullocks by keeping and caring for them at different places. He even emptied water tankers in the Aji Dam to get water for the survival of fish. He has become a beacon of hope and a savior for the society.

Rameshbhai had the support of his wife, Mrs. Renukaben Thakker, who provided him with a great moral boost, allowing him to involve himself in society’s services with greater force.

Rameshbhai’s desire to prolong his social services was fulfilled when he started Shree Giriraj Hospital in Rajkot on September 7, 2008, with his son Dr. Mayank Thakkar as the Medical Director. Rameshbhai became CM and Gaurang became MD. The hospital initially had 54 beds and the critical care unit was looked after by Dr. Mayank Thakker and 70 other staff. The hospital rapidly progressed and is now a Multispeciality Hospital in Rajkot. The hospital has a team of doctors available 24 x 7.
