FAQs

While general cardiology focuses on the clinical management of heart disease, Cardiac Science integrates advanced technology, electrophysiology, and non-invasive imaging to diagnose complex heart conditions. It involves a deeper look at the heart's electrical system and structural mechanics to provide precision treatments.
An EP study is an advanced test that records the electrical activity and electrical pathways of your heart. It is used to determine the cause of an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) and helps your cardiac scientist decide if you need a pacemaker, an ICD, or a catheter ablation.
Ejection Fraction (EF) is a measurement of the percentage of blood leaving your heart each time it contracts. A normal EF is typically between 55% and 70%. A low EF is often a primary indicator of heart failure or cardiomyopathy and is measured via an echocardiogram or cardiac MRI.

A herniated disc occurs when the soft inner gel of a spinal disc leaks through a tear in the outer shell, often irritating nearby nerves. No, surgery is not always required. Over 80% of patients find relief through physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, and epidural steroid injections.

Cardiac mapping is a high-tech procedure used during an EP study to create a 3D map of the heart’s electrical activity. This allows your doctor to pinpoint the exact location of an arrhythmia with pinpoint accuracy before performing a corrective ablation.
A Cardiac MRI provides highly detailed images of the heart's structure and function without using radiation. It is the "gold standard" for evaluating heart muscle damage after a heart attack, diagnosing tumors, or identifying rare conditions like sarcoidosis or myocarditis.
